Thought of the day: Finding Happiness in the midst of good and the bad

Romans 5:3, “More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance

What do you do when times are bad? Do you spend most of your times complaining or do you delight in all situations?

Well, the biblical wisdom teaches us to be happy when times are both good and bad. We shouldn’t always be happy when times are good; we need to know that God has made both, the bad and the good. Sometimes God allows the bad to happen in our lives us to build us up, we can learn this through the children of Israel. Whenever they went astray from God, He left them alone and they were punished for what they did, this was not to destroy them, but it was a way to mold them to what God designed them to be. When we learn that God has made both circumstances, we live a far better life filled with blessings.

We have so much to learn when times are bad. We shouldn’t always mourn when things aren’t going our way or turn out the way we expected them to. In fact, I believe that when we see the bad happening, we should always meditate on that and learn from it. It should be our time to think over and reflect on those moments.

For me I tend to give God the glory for all that I go through because I know that nothing can happen to me unless it has gone through Him, as it is clearly stated out for me in Romans 8:28. It’s always comforting to know that God is in control of everything, working out everything in conformity with the plan and purpose of His own will (Nehemiah 9:6; Hebrews 1:3). No matter what tough situation you are going through, just know that He is in control, and whenever passing through the good, bless and glorify His holy name.

So, If we really want to grow and become mature both in life and faith, let us learn to be happy through all situations, whether the good or the bad. Whenever it seems that things are bad, and we feel like God has left us, it’s time for a reflection on those moments.

I have come to find that God is working for my benefit because I have been chosen by Him, to share His kingdom, so have you too. God never changes, he loves us no matter what, and He wants to see the best of us. When things get tough He doesn’t leave us, this is the times when He is closer to us than ever. It’s up to me and you to know that when times are good we should be happy, and when things get worse, let us move closer to God. Let us take a moment to learn from those circumstances we go through. This should be something that you and I should take into consideration as we live this unperfected life.

When we come to learn that God made both the good and the bad, we will appreciate life.

Ecclesiastes 7:14  (NIV)

14 When times are good, be happy;
    but when times are bad, consider this:
God has made the one
    as well as the other.
Therefore, no one can discover
    anything about their future.

I hope that this shines a light on your heart today.
