My top 2017 photos that proves working with children can be a joy

One of the benefits you get while working in the social service sector is working with children and for years now I have worked with children who are in schools and those in children’s homes, and the joy that I find in them is indescribable. Children bring you back to childhood, and it’s pretty awesome. Just after a few hours spent in their company, you’ll realize that you have to answer thousands of questions one after another. At first, this may sound like a nightmare, but after a while, you’ll start enjoying it and realize that your answers make the children happy since their curiosity is finally satisfied. Working with children has helped me develop a life time sense of perseverance and awe-striking patience, and to me it’s a blessing because if I can work with children, it’s an assurance that I can work with anyone.

The children of today are the adults of tomorrow’s future, and by working with them you and I are helping to set them on the right track enabling them to grow into confident, resilient young people. No matter whether you work in a primary or secondary school, Children homes, Day care, or any other child involved institution you’ll have an opportunity to guide children’s development and help them acquire all the necessary tools for their future education. Working with children can be an incredibly stressful at times, there are times when it gets hectic and chaos breaks out; one is crying, the other is pulling down the curtain rails, and yet another is climbing on the table, however there are times in which things calm down and that is when you see it, that smiling face looking up at you, and this is what reveals the reward of it all. When that child just stares at you and smiles because you have just hung their picture on the wall, you are building self esteem and confidence in the child. Working with children is beneficial to our health as well since they truly know how to make us run all over the place. Being able to teach a child something new and watching the 'twinkle' in their eyes when they understand and seeing how proud they look is a blessing, listening to them whilst they play – how their imaginations make you smile is a blessing, so remember this next time you have the opportunity to work with children of any age, you may be the only positive influence that child gets.

As the year comes to an end I just wanted to share with you some of my top best incredible pictures of children I worked with this year at Arise Community School in Siha – Kilimanjaro. I hope you find each smiling face a blessing and motivation to always desire to be surrounded by such beautiful and amazing souls. Trust me; I had an absolute blast with them.
